CHARTER SCHOOLS

Tucson Youth Development is the governing district/LEA of ACE & YouthWorks Charter High Schools. TYD Schools provide alternative education to "at-risk" youth who have not been successful in traditional high school settings., 

The mission of ACE (Alternative Computerized Education) & YouthWorks is to provide alternative, rigorous, technology-enhanced instruction for "at risk" youth within a safe, supportive environment leading to graduation and preparation for success beyond graduation.  250 students attend these schools every year.

SCHOOLYARD WATER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The "Beautify ACE" project was made possible by the Schoolyard Water Education program through Watershed Management Group. Students created a rain garden with rainwater harvesting basins on campus and planted new desert landscape to attract wildlife such as hummingbirds and butterflies.

  • Increase in average teacher salary from prior year 2018 = $ 4,895
